5 Things to Do for Achieving Durable Cement Wall |
1. Not Force to Speed Up the Process Bricks application has a huge impact on building’s strength. The application process does not take a long time, but cement mixture needs some time to develop strength. Concrete walls with sufficient strength development time are less likely to experience cracking caused by evaporation. 2. Take Your Time when Applying Plaster Plaster application is a process that requires high concentration and precision. The process could not be done in haste. Texture adjustment needs to be done first for a smooth and even wall surface. 3. Apply Sufficient Amount of Plaster When applying plaster, make sure you are putting sufficient amount of it. A layer that is too thick might take a longer time to dry. If there are places that need adjustment, apply cement only on the problem areas instead of layering the whole wall. 4. Wet the Bricks Before Application Do not forget to wet the bricks first to reduce the possibility of cracking. Soak the bricks or spray them with water an hour prior to application. After applying, rewet the bricks with water before layering them with plaster. You need to ensure that all bricks are damp before applying plaster. 5. Not Install Brick Wall Directly on Top of Concrete Brick wall installed directly on top of concrete could damage the concrete. When concrete could not properly support the weight of brick wall, an indentation could appear on the floor. Put a steel crossbeam covered with concrete on top of the floor before installing the brick wall. Besides the correct application process, the selection of cement could also affect building’s strength and durability. Therefore, make sure to use premium quality cement that is easy to apply, such as Semen Merah Putih for easier concrete wall application. |
